The workshop “Improving the production efficiency of dairy cows by reducing the total annual greenhouse gas emissions” will be organized within the Faculty of Animal Productions Engineering and Management, the results being obtained in the ADER project 9.1.4/2019.

The purpose of the meeting will be to highlight that emissions reduction can be within the reach of livestock producers, and the adoption of best practices and technologies currently available for feeding, raising and ensuring animal health, manure management would help the sector of raising cattle in reducing greenhouse gases.

Specialists in the field, teachers, along with master and doctoral students who are interested in formulating and optimizing rations for dairy cows are invited to the meeting. For this purpose, nutritional variants based on fodder and plant by-products will be presented in order to highlight the possibility of developing dairy farms by judicious use of local feed resources.

Also, the usefulness and the ways of using the monitoring systems of microclimate and productive parameters at the farm level will be highlighted, because these systems allow the registration of parameters throughout the day, and, in case of excessive level, alerts are sent directly to the farmer for him to be able to take immediate action.
